Hello! I'm Jerry Mills, the photographer of the numinous photos you'll find here at U.P. Memories. My photography features the breathtaking beauty of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (the U.P.) and our queen jewel, Lake Superior.While hitch hiking throughout the lower 48 states in 1982, I stopped to visit the U.P.. I had no idea my "visit" would last over 40 years! Early on I kept busy as a youth worker, an EMT Specialist and fireman, explored my passion for singing and songwriting and studied to become a teacher.Thirty years ago, after several years of teaching, I was invited to share my personal stories and songs as the keynote presenter for hundreds of my professional peers. It was on that day I accidentally discovered the career that would take me around the world.Over the past three decades I've been honored to perform hundreds of keynote concerts for events nationally and internationally. What many people don't know is that in my spare time I've had a deep love for capturing photos (and videos) of my "numinous " experiences along Lake Superior and around Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
